Sub.: Concerns about traffic rules violation

Dear Sir,

I, Soma Baruah, a law-abiding citizen of Bhopal, am writing this letter to raise concerns about the violation of traffic rules by drivers and pedestrians alike.

Most of the pedestrians and drivers are not aware of the traffic rules. Many of those who are aware simply ignore them, and create chaos on the roads.

This leads to disruption of traffic flow, and thereby increases the risk of accidents, injuries, fatalities, and damage to public properties.

Government and NGOs both can contribute to overcome this problem through some effective measures. Awareness campaigns can be organized on social media or in schools through videos, posters or pamphlets. Strict action, including penalties, detention of vehicles, community service or enrolment in a school for compulsory course on traffic rules can tackle the issue in an effective manner.

I request you to highlight the issue in a column of your newspaper. You can use the above points along with your own ideas to address this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Yours truly,

(-s/d)

Soma Baruah

Sub.: Creating awareness about solar energy

Dear Ms. Fernandes,

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to make people aware of the growing needs and demands of solar power.

We all know that our earth is showing signs of a patient in declining health, and it is due to excessive pollution on our planet. We are overusing electricity all across the world which has resulted in global warming and serious climate changes. Day by day, the increasing use of power through various electronic appliances, air-conditioners, and other gadgets, has brought us at a critical juncture. At this crossroads of decision, it is imperative that we switch over to an alternative.

This alternative source of energy needs to be greener and cleaner than its predecessor. Solar power seems to be the perfect candidate to solve our problems at the moment. The use of solar energy has already begun in appreciable amount in several parts of the world. It just needs to take the complete charge of the proceedings now. A complete shift to solar energy will result in reduced carbon emission, and help in maintaining a stable temperature around the world.

I humbly request you to publish an article on promoting the use of solar energy, and create awareness among the public about its benefits.

Thank you in anticipation.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Madam,

Sub.: Morbi Suspension Bridge Tragedy

I, Akshar Upadhyay, a responsible and concerned citizen, feel deeply saddened by the event that transpired in Morbi last month. I am writing this letter to express my views, and give some suggestions that can prevent such accidents in the future.

First of all, the standard operating procedures (SOPs), valid quality checks and certification for safety of such structures must be strictly adhered to. In my opinion, the bridge should have been opened for public only after it would have qualified for a satisfactory health certificate.

Further, extreme precautions must be exercised by the people dealing with the management and maintenance of such structures. Such accidents usually take place due to the ignorance and overlooking of safety protocols. Another example of such carelessness is the overloading of the ferries with number of passengers well beyond the capacity.

It is a humble request from my side that you write and publish an article to increase awareness about the safety protocols in such matters. It would create a great impact through your admirable newspaper.

Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr. Jaiswal,

I am Krishna Mathur, an investor from Rajkot. Like many others, I am also interested in investing in cryptocurrency. I am writing this letter to request you to throw some light on the two sides of this virtual coin.

It would be great if you can advice us, and separate the facts from the myths surrounding the digital currency. Further, please tell us about the benefits and the risks involved while investing in this sector.

Kindly enlighten us about the factors to be considered before selecting a digital currency for investment. People are being misguided through rumors and twisted facts. I believe you are the perfect person to bring all of them out of the dark.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Sub: A Request to publish about our problem

I am writing this letter to you to draw your attention towards a problem we are facing in our locality, and to request you to publish about it.

For the last three weeks, there has been a terrible nuisance of stray dogs in our society, especially at nights. The dogs bark continuously and loudly breaking the silence and peace of the night. The residents frequently get disturbed and struggle to have a comfortable and peaceful sleep because of this. There are even some students who study late at night, and cannot focus properly.

We had complained to the Animal Welfare department of Municipal Corporation twice, but there has been no result. We would be glad if we could ignore the noise of these dogs like the department did not hear our voice. However, sadly that is not the case.

I humbly request you to highlight this issue through a column of your newspaper so that the concerned authorities finally hear our voice.

We expect your support in this regard.

Thank you in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,

(-s/d)

John D'souza
